A bit of a diversion!
A thumpy track where we set up a few riffs, brought in Howie to improvise over the top of it, and used that as the base of the track. Then the club graciously allowed Juan Sara, (a devoted christian), to come into the studio and put down a reading of The Serenity Prayer. English not bing his first language it lent a sweetness to the recording that we did not expect! This was actually put out to a few local radio stations who played it a few times for us.
Again, for those not in the know, the "Ivano" referred to was our Player/Manager at the time, Ivano Bonetti... a singularly unique period for the club!
This track is the one I had the least to do on!
My only input was arranging some of the mix, the high "Jimmy Somerville" style backing vocals, and the very end of the music. (We didn't want to fade it out.)
(The track pic shows Juan, Mike and Myself in the studio during his recording session with a mock up of the album art at that time.)
lyrics
DUNDEE!
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
I Thank God!
Ivano, Ivano!
I thank God for Saturday and the wisdom to know the difference.
